Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge

Hi,
I really like this month's inspiration photo.  I decided to use the colors, the fabric images as in dots, damask and flowers and also the general layout of the photo, as in separate  horizontal strips represented by each fabric piece.   So my first step with this card was stamping and cutting strips, but as I was adhering the strips to the bottom of the card, I became attached to the white space at the card's upper portion and was unable to cover it up, so now I have more strips for another card!  And since some of the fabric has a flowery pattern, I went with Rosie Posie as the focal point, stamped my sentiment right on the middle strip, and voila!  I look forward to seeing other takes on this.
Have a grand day,
Val

Make It Monday #62

Hi,
These cards are made  for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge posted HERE.  For me this was quite a stretch, since I often see a card I like and try to pare it down to the essential elements, not dress it up!   The second card has so much more texture than the first; not only are some of the elements popped up and layered, but the flower panel on the lower part of the card has been distressed with an impression plate.  Thanks for looking,
Val

Make It Monday #61

Hi,
What a fun challenge on the Papertrey ink website posted HERE...I do not have many non-flower dies, but since I received the Rosie Posie stamp set and dies I knew their interesting shapes had other possibilities.  To make my flower, I cut the lower left leaf of the main stem and fashioned 8 of these cuts in a circle, and then placed a circle image also from Rosie Posie at the middle  to create the centre of the flower.  The leaves are from Turning a New Leaf. Next a sentiment was stamped, and the white panel  was placed on Berry Sorbet cardstock.  Such fun
Cheers,
Val

Happy Easter

Hi,
Today I have a couple of Easter cards to post, basically the same card with a different color scheme.  Color so affects the tone of a card, don't you think?   I have to admit these cards  are quite copied (see this post here) but I couldn't resist  spreading a little cheer!
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter. I am cooking for an even dozen!!

Make It Monday#60

Hi,
Thought I'd play along with the Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink.  Although I had many colors of ink on my desk, I ended up taking a minimalist approach using only Smokey Shadow ink. I am in the process of switching up computers, and am hoping this one doesn't crash before I get every thing transferred to the newer one!
Cheers,
Val
